Mission

The Greater Boston Women's Billiard Club (GBWBC) is an independent group seeking to foster a community of women pool enthusiasts interested in friendly competition, both informal and more formally organized.   GBWBC places particular emphasis on welcoming beginners who would like to build their skills and find camaraderie among other women players.   GBWBC benefits from the generous sponsorship of the Boston Billiard Club (link opens new window), which provides a home for most of our events.  Although GBWBC caters to a lesbian population, we do not exclude women on the basis of sexual orientation.  All women who uphold the spirit of respectful sportsmanship are welcome to participate in our events.

Responsible and courteous conduct is central to all club events.  Participants are expected to play fairly, to win and lose graciously, and to value the maintenance of a positive environment above the gain of any individual or team.  Regular club socials provide an opportunity for socializing and playing pool without a formal structure for competition. The GBWBC also hosts a weekly 8-ball league, tournaments, and other special events. Above all, GBWBC is dedicated to providing a fun environment for women pool players to meet each other, compete, and build their skill at the billiard table.
